Instructions:

Vanilla Sugar

1 fresh vanilla bean split and then cut into 1-inch pieces. Place in a jar with 1 pound of confectioners' or extra-fine white granulated sugar, let sit 3 days before using and use instead of extract in frostings and in cakes.

Save cut beans to make other desserts, sauces or custards.
