Instructions:

Colorado Coffee Cake

1/4 cup butter
8 ounces cream cheese
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
2 eggs
2 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

In a large mixing bowl cream together butter, cream cheese, sugar and eggs.

In a medium bowl sift together flour, baking powder, salt and baking soda.

In a third smaller bowl combine the milk and vanilla extract. Add milk mixture to creamed butter mixture, stirring constantly until well blended. Add flour mixture to creamed ingredients, blending for 3 minutes or until well mixed. Spoon mixture into 3 greased and floured round 8-inch cake pans.

Topping
1/4 cup butter
1/4 cup flour
1 cup brown sugar
3 teaspoons cinnamon
Chopped nuts (optional)

Mix all ingredients together and sprinkle over dough mixture in each of 3 loaf pans. Bake cakes at 350 degrees F for 20 minutes.

Delicious hot or cold.
