Baked Ziti (T&T)

I do not remember where I found this recipe. If it was posted by someone, I apologize to the person who posted it. This is a tried and true recipe.

1 small onion, chopped
2 teaspoons olive oil
1/2 cup tomato paste
1 can (8 ounces) tomato sauce
2/3 cup water
1 teaspoon leaf oregano, crumbled
1 teaspoon leaf basil, crumbled
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
1 cup ricotta
6 ounces mozzarella cheese, shredded
8 ounces ziti, cooked and drained
